Sierra Nevada / Abbey of New Clairvaux Ovila Saison:

This is much better than the Ovila dubbel was, in my opinion. Not the most exciting saison ever, but a pretty good one nonetheless. Straw, clove, and pepper are the things I noticed most in this one. It’s a nice balanced yeastiness… not too funky, not too estery, but a smidgen of both. A little light fruit, but not a particularly obvious fruit push in any direction. I’m not blown away by either beer in this series yet, but I do look forward to trying the rest. Seeing Sierra working on belgian-inspired beers like this is an pretty exciting thing to follow.
